Gary Steven Judy , age 68, of Riverton, WV, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born on April 4, 1955, in Washington, DC, the son of the the late Roy Thurman and Mary Elouise (Arbogast) Judy. On April 7, 1973, Gary married his wife of 50 years, Debra Ann (Compton) Judy, who survives in Riverton.
Mr. Judy was a 1973 graduate of Circleville High School and he had worked at Howes Leather Company for 18 years and for General Dynamics. He was the owner and operator of Judy Gap Construction. Gary was a member of the Circleville Presbyterian Church, Circleville Fire Department, Iron Workers Local #697, and Pendleton Lodge #144 AF & AM.
Gary loved God, his wife, his children and grandchildren. Spending time with his family was his entire world as they were his pride and joy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hunting ginseng. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything and everything.
In addition to his beloved wife, Gary leaves behind to cherish his memory: his loving children and grandchildren: Jeremy Judy (Andrea) and Callie and Abigail of Riverton, WV; and Rhiannon Phares (Ben) and Benson of Circleville, WV.
Also surviving: a sister, Linda Johnson of Sugar Grove, WV; 3 brothers, William Estep (Hope), Jerry Phares (Kitty), and Larry Bland (Mary); and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Judy's family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 12:00 Noon at Circleville Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Fletcher Hutcheson and Rev. Ann Reed Held officiating. Interment will be in the Judy Cemetery, Riverton, with Masonic services conducted by Pendleton Lodge #144 AF & AM. Memorials may be made to: Circleville Volunteer Fire Department or Circleville Presbyterian Church.
