George Allan Hevener , age 61, of Franklin, WV, formerly of Highland County, VA, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019, on US Route 220, South, Monterey, VA, as the result of an auto accident. He was born on August 13, 1957, in Monterey, VA, the son of the late George Pinkney Hevener, Jr. and the late Carrie Ellen (Tidd) Hevener. On October 5, 1976, George married Nancy Gail (Evans) Hevener, who survives in Franklin.

Mr. Hevener attended Highland County Schools, and trained as an auto mechanic at Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation. He retired from Dynamic Aviation in Bridgewater, VA. He was a Methodist by Faith. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his trike.

In addition to his wife, George is survived by: a daughter, Angela Candice Ritchie (Kenneth) of Franklin, WV; and a grandson, Jason Allen Hinkle.

In honoring Mr. Hevener's wishes, his body has been cremated. His family will receive friends on Monday, July 15, 2019, 5-6 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV.
