George William Vance, age 69, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at his residence. He was born on February 21, 1951 at Onego, WV, the son of the late Burl Vance and Bertie (Long) Heavener.

Mr. Vance attended school in Onego and Seneca Rocks. He was a member of the South Branch Baptist Church in Petersburg. George had a love for country music, farming, gardening and he was a self-employed farmer.

Mr. Vance is survived by: 9 sisters, Johnnie Sue Vance Kimble of Petersburg, Anna Mae Wimer of Petersburg, Mary Ellen Thompson (Sheldon) of Moorefield, WV, Jurlene Wimer (Harlen) of Cherry Grove, WV, Ruthlene VanMeter of Upper Tract, WV, Cynthia Borror (Terrance) of Petersburg, Kathy Arbaugh (Michael) of Cherry Grove, Mary Elizabeth Blair of Petersburg and Cindy Heavener of Petersburg;

7 brothers, Larry John Vance of Petersburg, Glenn Dale Vance of Mill Creek, WV, Douglas Morral of Petersburg, Richard Morral (Penny) of Landes, WV, David A. Heavener of Cabins, WV, Joseph L. Heavener (Cheryl) of Petersburg and Sidney E. Morral of Petersburg.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Vance is preceded in death by: 2 sisters, Wilda Jane Vance and Anna Lee Vance.

Viewing hours will be on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 between the hours of 10AM and 6PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens in Petersburg with Pastor Matt Perrine officiating.
