Helen Lucile Cowger , age 95, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV. She was born on August 2, 1927, in Sylacauga, AL, the daughter of the late Grady and Myrtle Lee (Pullen) Landers. Helen married Roland Dyer Cowger, who preceded her in death on November 25, 2000.

Mrs. Cowger attended Sylacauga High School in Alabama and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. She had worked as a seamstress at Kans Department Store and she loved painting, gardening, and flowers.

Mrs. Cowger is survived by: a sister, Carol Waites of Dothan, AL; 2 brothers, Jimmie Landers (Sue) of Indianapolis, IN, Sam Landers (Janie) of Sylacauga, AL; several nieces and nephews, including Steve Cowger (Susan) of Harrisonburg, VA and 2 great-nephews, Brian Cowger of Harrisonburg, VA and Kyle Cowger of Broadway, VA.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Fairview Cemetery, Ft. Seybert, WV, with Brian Cowger offficiating.
