James Oliver "Jim" Judy , age 80 of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at his residence. He was born on August 23, 1937, in Smoke Hole, WV, the son of the late Kermit Oliver and Pearl Gladys (Landis) Judy. On December 15, 1960, Jim married his wife of 57 years, Juanita (Carr) Judy, who survives in Petersburg.

Mr. Judy was a 1956 graduate of Petersburg High School and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the VFW Post #6454, American Legion Post #78 and an Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Petersburg. Mr. Judy retired as a book keeper from the A&P grocery store in Petersburg, WV. After retirement, Jim took up wood working and lawn care. He was a member of the 1 ^st Baptist Church of Petersburg.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Judy is survived by: a daughter, Jamie Ault (Duke) of Petersburg; 3 sisters, Carol Beck (Chuck) of Petersburg, Beverly Halterman (Gene) of Laurel Dale, WV and Dottie Oates (Jerry) of Petersburg; a brother, Gerald Judy of Petersburg; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by; a son, Daniel W. Judy; a brother, Randall K. Judy; a grandson, Cole Judy; and a granddaughter, Savannah Donaldson.

Mr. Judy's family will receive friends on Monday, July 9, 2018 from12-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg with services following at 2PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Paul Donaldson officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, WV, with military honors provided by the Potomac Highlands VFW Post 6454.
