James Allen Mowery , age 68, of Upper Tract, WV, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019 at his residence. He was born on June 9, 1951, in Petersburg, WV, the son of the late Bruce and Betty Jo (Nelson) Mowery.

Mr. Mowery attended Central Senior High School in Capitol Heights, MD. He retired as a Finishing Carpenter from Rushing Construction in Springfield, VA. James was a Veteran of the US Army.

Mr. Mowery is survived by: his companion, Judy Thayer of Upper Tract, Wv; 2 daughters, Belinda Miller (Larry) of Charleston, WV, Heather Mowery of Suffolk, VA; a son, James Allen Mowery, Jr. of Virginia; 2 sisters, Carol Wilson (Larry) of Charlottesville, VA, Robin Jones (Tom) of Frederick, MD; and 5 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a son, Joseph Aaron Mowery; and 2 brothers, Steven and David Mowery.

In honoring Mr. Mowery's wishes, his body has been cremated. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Cherry Hill Cemetery in Upper Tract, WV, with Military Honors conducted by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard.
