Jeffrey Glenn Whetzel, age 56, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Valley Health Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA surrounded by his family.  He was born on January 5, 1968 in Petersburg, the son of Glenn Victor and Shirlene Frances (Lofton) Whetzel of Petersburg, WV.

Mr. Whetzel graduated from Petersburg High School in 1986 and was a Christian by faith.  He worked at Pilgrim's Pride in Moorefield, WV and in construction for Ritchie Sites.  Jeff had many pleasures in life and hunting, fishing, and riding his moped "bom bom" topped the list.   He enjoyed farming with his son & trips to the store with his dad. He loved spending time with his family and his granddaughter Delaynee held a special place in his heart.

Jeff is survived by: 2 daughters, Danielle Brooke Whetzel of Morgantown, WV; Courtney Nicole Whetzel (fiancé Tim Hedrick) of Petersburg, WV; a son Keaton Jeffrey Whetzel (Danielle) of Petersburg, WV; 2 sisters, Glenna Frances Whetzel-Thorne (Ralph, Jr.) of Moorefield, WV; Vickie Lea Whetzel-Ours (Randy) of Purgitsville, WV; 3 brothers, Bobby Whetzel of Cabins, WV; Thomas Whetzel of Arthur, WV; Robert Whetzel (Sherry) of Petersburg, WV; a granddaughter, Delaynee with 2 on the way; and several nieces and nephews. Jeff will also be missed by his fur-baby, Binks.

Jeff's family will receive friends on Saturday, July 27, 2024, 1-2 PM, at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Rick Bergdoll officiating.  Inurnment will be at the Whetzel Cemetery on Rough Run, WV.  Memorials may be made to the family c/o Basagic Funeral Home POB 400 Petersburg, WV 26847.   Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com or on Facebook at Basagic Funeral Home.
