Jerlo Thompson, age 95, of Seneca Rocks, WV, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg. He was born on April 16, 1924, in Onego, WV, the son of the late Amby and Delphia (Payne) Thompson. In November of 1976, Jerlo married Helen Ann (Harman) Thompson, who preceded him in death on February 17, 2014.

Mr. Thompson attended Brushy Run one room schoolhouse, and was an avid bear hunter. He had worked as a carpenter and a farmer. Jerlo had worked from 1988-2011 before retiring as a night watchman from Allegheny Wood Products.

Mr. Thompson is survived by: 2 daughters, Jerrena Auville (Matt) of Riverton, WV, Jeanie Hawk (Jeremy) of Cabins, WV; 10 grandchildren, Sinjin, Sierra, Braiden, Kristopher, Mattia, Caroline, Brooke, Cheyenne, Jesse, and Isaiah. In addition to his parents and spouse, he was preceded in death by: 4 brothers, Achie, Trumie, Dewey, Hughie; and 4 sisters, Mary Thompson, Ressie Biller, Lillie Elza, and Peachie Thompson.

Mr. Thompson's family will receive friends on Monday, July 1, 2019, 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Earl Bible officiating. Interment will be in North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton, WV.
