Jimmie Darrel Hedrick, age 81, of Petersburg WV, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at his home.  He was born on December 10, 1940, in Petersburg WV, the son of the late Marvin Glenn "Jimmy" and Lila Rose (Wolford) Hedrick.  On December 13, 1988, Jimmie married his wife, Mary Ann (Mongold) Hedrick, who survives in Petersburg.

Mr. Hedrick attended school at the Johnson Run School House in Petersburg and was a member of the Lighthouse Community Church in Maysville, WV.  After 47 years of service, he retired from American Woodmark Corporation in Moorefield, WV and was a former member of the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Dept.

In addition to his wife, Jimmie leaves behind to cherish his memories: a daughter, Elizabeth "Libby" Hedrick of Petersburg, WV; 4 sons, William "Buddy" Hedrick (Brenda) of Baker, WV; James "Elwood" Hedrick (Karen Kay) of Lahmansville, WV; Richard "Rick" Hedrick (Lori) of Petersburg, WV; Darrell "DJ" Hedrick (Stephanie) of NC; a sister, Gloria Swick of Amarillo, TX; a step-daughter, Sueann Gilchrist of Petersburg, WV; 12 Grandchildren; 15 Great-Grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.  Mr. Hedrick was preceded in death by one son, Marvin "Marty" Hedrick.

Mr. Hedrick's family will receive friends on Thursday, July 7, 2022, 10 AM until12 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.  Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ray Church officiating.  Interment will be in the Mongold Cemetery in Rough Run, WV.  Memorials may be made to the family c/o Basagic Funeral Home, PO Box 400 Petersburg, WV 26847 .  Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com
