With broken hearts and fond memory, we announce the passing of Jimmy Lee Bowers, who left his earthly home on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at WVU Medicine JW Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born on April 5, 1983, in Elkins, WV, the son of Jerry and Tammie (Kisamore) Bowers. On November 1, 2014, Jimmy married his wife of 11 years, Kimberly (Pultz) Bowers, who survives in Seneca Rocks, WV.
Jimmy was a 2001 graduate of Pendleton County High School and South Branch Vocational Center. He worked in the laboratory at Greer Limestone Company in Riverton, WV. He completed Basic Training for the US Army and was a member of the Bible Missionary Church in Onego, WV.
Jimmy’s life was a reflection of loyalty, service, and compassion. While many may have known him for his quiet strength and sheepish smile, those closest to him were touched by his sincerity and steadfast care. From the young young age of 13, Jimmy demonstrated a passion that would come to define much of his adult life through his dedication to the Seneca Rocks Volunteer Fire Department, serving as 2nd lieutenant and his 30 years of commitment to Company 7 as Firefighter #706. To Jimmy, this was not just a volunteer role, this was his life and was self defined through his sacrifices for his brotherhood, it was a testament to his bravery, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to helping others in times of need. In addition to the Fire Department, he was also loyal to PCER for 8 years. Jimmy's pledge to serve the community was rewarding to him and his value was immeasurable.
Jimmy enjoyed assembling models and legos, hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He loved his fur babies (dogs, cats, guinea pigs) and treasured making memories with his family.
In addition to his wife and parents, Jimmy leaves behind to cherish his memory: his grandmothers, Ruby Ann Kisamore of Seneca Rocks, WV and Joy Ann (Waybright) Shenk of Port Republic, VA; mother and father-in-law, Nancy and David Pultz; brother-in-law, Matthew Pultz; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by: his grandfathers, Clifford Kisamore and Stover Bowers; and his step-grandfather, Kenneth Shenk.
