Joel Alexis Harnois , age 69 of Brandywine, WV, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, VA.

He was born on March 13, 1951 in Holyoke, MA, the son of the late Donald Howard Harnois and Lillian (Airoldi) Harnois

Joel graduated from Holyoke High School in 1970 and joined the Navy after graduation. He retired from the US Navy after serving 20 years as a Communications Technician. As a civilian, Joel continued working for the Navy at the Sugar Grove Naval Base in WV as a CTR- Recreation Aide. He retired from that position about 5 years ago. Joel enjoyed golfing, fishing and camping in South Carolina with his friends.

Mr. Harnois is survived by: 2 sisters, Estelle Janisieski (husband Alexander) of Westfield, MA, Jean Tucker (husband Glen) of Cooksville, TN, 6 nieces; 5 great-nieces; and 1 great-nephew.

In Honoring Mr. Harnois' wishes, his body has been cremated and he will have a Burial at Sea out of Norfolk, VA. A celebration of Joel's life will be planned at a later date.
