John Robert Hedrick

Age 91 passed away peacefully at his home in Seneca Rocks, WV on Friday, July 29, 2022.  He was born in Dry Fork, WV on November 02, 1930, the son of the late Homer and Nela Phares Hedrick from Seneca Rocks.  He was married on August 4 th , 1950 and is survived by his wife Lois Nelson Hedrick of nearly 72 years.

John attended Dixie Grade School in Riverton and Circleville High School in Circleville.  He was the owner of Riverton Sporting and Hardware Store in Riverton, WV from 1980 – 1992.  He attended the North Fork Baptist Church and was an avid hunter and angler with a gift to repair nearly anything.

John leaves behind three children, Doris Ann Martin (Ronald) of Markleysburg, PA, Barbara Gail Thompson (John) of Circleville, WV and James Douglas Hedrick (Lara) of Seneca Rocks WV.  He is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Jennifer, Tim, Matt, Scott, Meagan, Eric, Jose, Jasmine, Ryan, Cameron, Tristen, and Nelly; 6 great grandchildren: Whitney, Taylor, Conner, TJ, Matayah, and Treyven; and 9 great great grandchildren.

John was proceeded in death by three brothers and two sisters, William (Bill) Hedrick of Ohio, Earl (Buzz) Hedrick of Riverton, and Gerald (Jake) Hedrick of Manassas VA, Avanell Hinkle and Wilda Bland both of Riverton.  He is survived by two sisters Lorena (Sis) Hedrick of Petersburg, and Blonda (Boots) Hartman of Seneca Rocks.

In honoring John's wishes, a graveside service will be held at North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton, WV on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Ted Bennett officiating.  Contribution can be made to Cortland Acres Nursing Home, 39 Cortland Acres Ln., Thomas, WV 26292 or Burlington United Family Methodist Services, 120 Hope Ln., Burlington, WV 26710, in lieu of flowers.
