John Martin Kisamore , age 88, of Seneca Rocks, WV, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. He was born on February 2, 1931, at Mouth of Seneca, WV, the son of the late Martin and Pearlie (Sites) Kisamore. John was married to Phyllis (Nelson) Armentrout and Mona Kisamore, who both survive in Seneca Rocks.
Mr. Kisamore attended Riverton Grade School and Dixie Schoolhouse, Kingdom Hall-Jehovah's Witness Church in Franklin, and Brushy Run United Methodist Church. He was a Veteran of the US Army (Signal Corp) where he served during the Korean Conflict. John worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and on the Pipeline.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Kisamore is survived by: a daughter, Goldie Pearl Teter (Jim) of Port Orange, FL; step daughter, Anna Marie Ours (Ronald D.) of Petersburg, WV; 2 sons, Craig J. Kisamore (Paula) of Cherry Grove, WV, Dan J. Kisamore of Seneca Rocks; a step son, Roy Dean Kisamore (Kathy) of Critz, VA; 2 brothers, Jacob Kisamore of Seneca Rocks, Justin Kisamore (Pudgy) of Maysville, WV; 4 grandchildren, April, Jonathan, Sarah, and Tucker; and 6 step grandchildren, Joshua, Danielle, Tamara, Jacob, Gracen, and Kayla; 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 7 brothers, Jearl, Julius, Jesse, Joseph, Jerry, Jack, and Jonah; a sister, Judith Vance; and a grandson, Jamie.
Mr. Kisamore's family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 2:30 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Stanley Kile officiating. Interment will be in the Old Sites Cemetery, Seneca Rocks, with Military Honors conducted by Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to North Fork Rescue Squad, North Fork Fire Company, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
