November 5, 1952 – January 9, 2020
John Lucien LaBonte, 67, of Franklin WV went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 9, 2020, losing his long battle with C.O.P.D and lung cancer.
John was born November 5, 1952 in Washington DC to Joseph and Eva (Hope) Mick - LaBonte.
Mr. LaBonte grew up in Riverdale, Maryland with his siblings Tom and Anne. He earned his barber certification early on, later to make his trade in carpentry and painting for several years.
John's meticulous nature showed through in the pride he took in his work and personal life. During his life he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and target shooting, listening to his classic rock radio station, and watching his movie collection. He also enjoyed strategic gaming and enjoyed the company of family and friends.
John is survived by his daughters, Diana LaBonte-Kehl of Glen Burnie, Maryland and her children, Eric and Amanda. Angie LaBonte of Martinsburg WV, and her children, Allyson, Mikayla, Zachary, and grandson, Blake, and former wife Denise McCauley-McIlwee.
John is also survived by his brother and sister, Thomas LaBonte and wife, Starann of Huntersville, NC; their 2 children, Heather and Jennifer. Anne LaBonte Malcom of Culpeper Va, her daughter Holly Malcom Riley and family. John is also survived by his uncle, John Mick and wife Rosalee, aunt, Olive Simmons, and loving, supportive cousins, family, and friends.
John was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Lucien LaBonte and his loving mother, Eva (Hope) LaBonte-Estes. Daughter, Dena Lynn, and Grandson, John Kehl Jr.
A graveside service will be scheduled at a later date in the spring at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin WV.
