Johnny Granville Lonas, age 71, a resident of Winchester Health and Rehabilitation, Winchester, VA, and formerly of Maysville, WV and Stanley, VA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2023 .  He was born on May 19, 1951 in New Market, VA, the son of the late Granville Issac and Lena Virginia (Delawder) Lonas.

Mr. Lonas attended school in Virginia and was a self-employed carpenter.  Johnny was a talented craftsman with no boundaries, anything you can imagine, he could build.  He also had a passion for the outdoors, whether he was gardening, hunting, or fishing.

Mr. Lonas is survived by: 2 daughters, Valarie Cook (Brian) of Maysville, WV, Jody Hall (Jeremy) of Petersburg, WV; a son, Jonathan Lonas (Donna) of Maysville, WV; 4 sisters, Nancy Smelser (William), Virginia Cubbage (Steve), Susie Combs (Ronald), Geraldine Lonas, all of Virginia; 3 brothers, Ralph Lonas (Violet), Hope Lonas (Diane) Randolph Lonas (Geraldine) all of Virginia; 6 Grandchildren, Jared and Haylee Lonas, Justin Cook, Tiffany Paugh, Eric and Michael Wilson; and 2 Great-Grandsons.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a brother, Dewayne Lonas; 3 sisters, Frances Lucas, Rosie Cubbage, and Mary Strawderman.
