Johnny William Mick , age 69, of Circleville, WV, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. He was born on February 24, 1953, in Blue Grass, VA, the son of the late Robert and Maggie (Hedrick) Mick. On August 16, 1974, Johnny married Gloria Lynn (Paugh) Mick, who survives in Circleville.
Mr. Mick attended school in Blue Grass, VA and he was a Pentecostal by faith. He was noted as a one of the best mechanics around and had worked for Allegheny Wood, Ted Davis Auto and Rexrode Logging.
Johnny loved spending time with his grandchildren and hunting. He was very talented and could build anything. Johnny and Gloria took pride in building their home together on their own.
On January 25, 2011, Johnny faced death with a ruptured aortic aneurysm, but God spared his life and honored him with 12 more years in which he fought hard to improve things during that time.
In addition to his wife, Johnny leaves behind to cherish his memory: 3 sons, Alonzo Mick (Jessica) of Troy, TN, Jody Mick (Samantha) of Baker, WV, Christopher Mick (Sylvia) of Circleville, WV; 8 grandchildren, Cory, Taylor, Tyler, Cheyenne, Kelsi, Aurora, Dominic, Xander; 4 sisters, Freda Vandevander, Mottie Bennett (Lacy), Wanda Bennett, all of Circleville, WV, Angela Cosner (Rocky) of Mt. Storm, WV; and many nieces and nephews in including a special nephew, Morgan Lambert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 3 sisters, Callie, Flornie, Patsy; 1 brother, Robert "June" Mick, Jr.; 2 half brothers, Raymond and Donald Mick.
Mr. Mick's family will receive friends on Sunday, February 12, 2023, 1-2 PM at the Basagic funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. George Lambert II, Rev. George Lambert, Sr., and Rev. Lewis Paugh officiating. Memorials may be made to the donors choice.
