Obituary

Joseph Wayne Dolly, age71, of Petersburg, WV, passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter, Amanda Jo, in Maysville, surrounded by family on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Joe was born on April 8, 1955 in Petersburg, the son of the late Roy Forest and Retta Minnie (Heavner) Dolly.

Mr. Dolly attended the Foreman School House and was a lifelong carpenter. He loved going to car shows and was a regular at McDonald's where he enjoyed catching up with friends. Joe was a hardworking man who loved his family. He was always ready for the next adventure life brought or to help with the next building project. He cherished every moment spent with his children and especially his grandchildren. Joe leaves them with a legacy of hard work and dedication to your craft as well as love for your family.

Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory: 2 daughters, Amanda Jo See (Colton) of Maysville, WV; Allison Dolly of New Jersey; 2 sisters, Wanda Kay Pennington of Petersburg, WV; Norma Vosburgh (Jeff) of Cabins, WV; 3 brothers, Glen Dolly (Pam Rose) of Keyser, WV; Bryan Dolly (Barb) of Manassas, VA; Tom Dolly (Michelle) of Petersburg, WV; and 9 Grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 2 brothers, Bobby Jack and Roger Lee Dolly; a niece, Cassie Vosburgh; and a nephew, Joey Dolly.

Joe’s family will receive friends on Monday, June 22, 2026, 12-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Frank Ketterman officiating. Interment will be at Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville, WV.
