Pastor Joseph Byron Embleton, Jr., age 78, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at his home. He was born on September 11, 1946, in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late Sarah (Goodman) Embleton and the late Joseph Byron Embleton, Sr. On May 28, 1998, Joseph married Janet (Simmons) Embleton, who survives in Franklin.

Joseph was a graduate of Arundel High School and a Veteran of the US Navy. Later in life, Joe became an ordained minister and was co-pastor at Redeeming Grace Outreach Worship Center in Franklin, WV. For fun, Joe loved working outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching sports. Joe's favorite activity was studying God's word.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Embleton leaves behind to cherish his memory: a daughter, Dawn Marie Custer (Joseph) of Stevensville, MD; 3 sons, Joseph B. Embleton III (Lolita) of Oakland, MD, Christopher Simmons (Victoria) of Franklin, WV, Sean Simmons (Andrea) of Circleville, WV; a sister, Gerri Poist of Catonsville, MD; 4 brothers, William Embleton (Pat) of Bel Air, MD, Don Embleton of Glen Burnie, MD, Mike Embleton (Kay) of Magadore, OH, Ron Embleton (Pat) of Kentucky; 10 grandchildren, Valerie Marie Embleton, Joseph Byron Embleton IV, Madison Jolie Embleton, Preston Michael Nichols, Joshua Jacob Nichols, Noah Matthew Nichols, Madilynn Grace Simmons, Linley Madison Wyatt, Brennan Lincoln Wyatt, Cameron Riley Wyatt; 1 great-grandson, Aiden Young.

Mr. Embleton's family will receive friends on Sunday, March 30, 2025, 12-2 PM in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Jason Boggs officiating. Memorials may be made to Redeeming Grace Outreach Worship Center.
