Joseph Branson "Joe" Mallow, age 69, of Cabins, WV, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021, at UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA.  He was born on August 11, 1951 in Petersburg, WV, the 7 ^th son of the late Mason Wade Mallow and Dovie Alice (Watts) Mallow.  On November 11, 2000 Joe married his wife, Kim Cheryl (Erickson) Mallow, who survives in Cabins, WV.

Mr. Mallow was a 1969 graduate of Petersburg High School. After graduation he moved to Fairfax City, VA and worked as a residential carpenter, later advancing to a commercial superintendent running government jobs. Upon retirement, Joe moved back to Grant County where he would then open his own business with his wife, Kim, operating Mallow's Roadside Cafe in Cabins, WV and later the Hermitage Inn in Petersburg, WV.  Joe was a Christian in faith and a member of the NRA. He had many pleasures in life, including: music, cars, riding ATV's, outside grilling at the poolside, creating a meticulous yard with a love of roses, spending quiet time by the river, watching sports, and cheering for his beloved Washington Redskins.  His greatest love and passion, however, was his family. Joe was a loving and devoted father and husband. Spending time with his family took precedence over all others. Many lasting memories were made over football games, sports, birthdays, holidays and gathering weekly.  His passion for life and family values will always be cherished.

Joseph is survived by: a daughter, Kimberly Shawn Mallow Pollak (Craig) of Winchester, VA; 2 sons, Joseph S. Mallow (Rachelle) of Gerrardstown, WV; Joshua R. Reid (Georgia Dawn) of Harpers Ferry, WV; 5 brothers, Noah Mallow of Franklin, WV; Tobe Mallow of Fairfax, VA; Melvin Mallow (Wilma) of Moorefield, WV; Earl Mallow (Robin) of Cabins, WV, and Eston Mallow (Linda) of Cabins, WV. He was a loving Pap Pap to 8 grandchildren, Jack, Adam, and Bryce Pollak, Kayla Tapscott, Camryn, and Branson Mallow, Grayce L'Ecluse, and Peyton Day; a great-granddaughter, Kennedy Alt; several nieces and nephews; and his 2 lovable dogs, Rusty and Jake.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 1 brother, Wade Mallow.

Mr. Mallow's family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 6:00PM-8:00PM, at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.  Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 in the funeral home chapel at 11AM with Pastor Kenneth Phares officiating.  Interment will be in the South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg, WV.  Memorials in honor of Joe may be made to your local youth sports league.
