Joseph Allen Newcomb, age 35 of Grottoes, VA, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at his home. He was born on January 24, 1983, the son of Thomas John and Debbie Mae (Cook) Newcomb, who survive in Grottoes.

Joseph attended Spotswood High School and had worked at South Valley Truck Wash in Mt. Crawford, VA.

In addition to his parents, Joseph is survived by: a daughter, Kyra Grace Newcomb (age 6) of Grottoes; a brother, Jason Aaron Newcomb of Grottoes; grandparents, Albert "Tommy" Newcomb of Circleville, Wilda Cook of Grottoes, and Margaret Nesmith of Alliance, OH. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arnold "Tinker" Cook.

Joseph's family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, 12-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Randy Miller officiating. Interment of cremains will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin.
