Judy Ellen Bland, age 84, of Riverton, WV, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at the Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg.  She was born on August 1, 1941 in Williamsport, PA, the youngest of five children to the late James and Lillian (Fletcher) Davidson and last surviving member of her immediate family.  Judy met Ray Bland on a trip he had made often to Williamsport, the two were married for 35 years until his tragic passing in 1995.

Ms. Judy graduated from Williamsport High School and was a former member of the North Fork Baptist Church.   After her marriage to Ray in 1960, the couple stayed in Williamsport for a few years then moved to Pendleton County.  The couple raised their children while working their farm of cattle, pigs, and growing a large garden.  Judy also worked at the Hanover Shoe Factory for over 15 years until they closed their doors and then Advantage Foods in Petersburg for a couple years until they closed.  Not wanting to be idle, she stayed busy on the farm, taking pride in being self-sufficient by preserving their food and making her own jellies, ketchup, and butter.  She also enjoyed watching her favorite shows, Matlock, Golden Girls, and Bonanza.  Judy was known for her wonderful sense of humor and the care she shared with her family and friends.

Judy is survived by: a daughter, Penny Bouvier (Chris) of Canada; 3 sons, Ray "Doug" Bland (Kathy) of Seneca Rocks, WV; James Bland of Cumberland, MD; Terry Bland (Odeth) of Cabins, WV; 4 grandchildren, Mark of Cabins, WV , Raymond of Cabins, WV, Judy of California, and Elisha (Steven Blum) of California.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: 4 brothers, Harry "Tom", Robert "Bob", James "Jim", and William "Bill" Davidson.

Judy's family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, 10-12 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home, Petersburg, WV.  Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dave Stephens officiating.  Interment will be in the North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton, WV.  Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com or on Facebook at Basagic Funeral Home.
