Lauretta Virginia Wilson, age 85, of Moorefield, WV, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2023, at Keyser Healthcare Center in Keyser, WV.  She was born on July 11, 1938, in Moorefield, WV the daughter of the late Robert Isaac and Ida (Reel) Myers.  Lauretta was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Wilson.

Mrs. Wilson went to school in Moorefield and attended Rig Assembly of God.  She worked as a home healthcare provider for the elderly.  Lauretta enjoyed watching television programs, especially westerns and cherished time spent with family and friends.

Lauretta is survived: by 2 sons, Gary Wilson (Tressie "Bootie") of Maysville, WV; Lester Wilson (Fiancée Rachel Thompson) of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Cozetta Evans (Eddie) of Moorefield, WV; 4 brothers, Delmas, Loui (Debbie), Riley, and Roger Myers; 6 Grandchildren; 9 Great-Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: a son, John Wilson; 2 sisters, Norma Hines; Ellie Mae Whiteman; 7 brothers, Bob, Karl, Edgar, Wayne, Jerry, Melvin and Ronnie Myers.

Lauretta's family will receive friends on Sunday, November 5, 2023, 12-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.   Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Brad Taylor officiating.  Interment will be in the Baldwin Cemetery, Ft.
