Lee Smith, age 31, of Lahmansville, WV, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV.  He was born on April 28, 1992 in Petersburg, WV, the son of the late Billy Jo Smith and Cathy Lynn Anderson (fiancé Jim Fairgrieve) of Barton, MD.

Lee graduated in 2011 from Petersburg High School and was a Christian by faith.  He was employed by Pilgrim's Pride in Moorefield and previously worked for Lumber & Things, Inc. in Keyser, WV.  In his spare time, Lee enjoyed riding 4-wheelers and dirt bikes.

In addition to his mother, Lee is survived by: 2 sisters, Deedee Keplinger (Eugene) of Lahmansville, WV; Cheyenne Smith of Cresaptown, MD; a brother, Billy Jo Smith Jr. of Lahmansville, WV; and a maternal grandmother, Mary Ellen Anderson of Fort Ashby, WV.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Smith and a nephew, Dennis Melvin "Sparky" Stewart, III.

Mr. Smith's family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.  Funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Daryl Dunsmore officiating.  Interment will be in Lahmansville Cemetery.
