Lelian Randolph (Randy) Bland passed on May 8, 2023.  He was at Pruitt Nursing Home in Conway, SC.  He was born in Washington, DC. on February 9, 1950.  He is survived by a sister, Charlene Bland Sepulveda and a brother in law, Bob Sepulveda in North Myrtle Beach, SC.  He is also survived by a brother, Charles L. Bland  (Larry)  wife Mary who live in Wilmington, Delaware.

Randy had a massive stroke years ago and could not speak.   Our cousin Patricia, (Tiny) visited him in the hospital.  She was talking to him and all of a sudden he started talking again.  She is our earth angel, the doctors had told us he would never talk again.  He defied the odds, he was a true warrior.

Through the years he worked at various jobs including Pepsi Cola, taxicab driver, etc.  He was very witty and had a dry sense of humor.  We became closer to him and had many great conversations.  He loved karate and was quite good.  He played basketball, shot pool, played guitar and loved watching Rodney Dangerfield videos.  We loved to hear  him laugh.  He also became closer to his brother Larry and his wife Mary.  At the time he was in the nursing home they lived close by and would visit him at various times.

He enjoyed bantering with the nurses.  They were very kind to him and we enjoyed talking with them.  They are true professionals and very caring.

The funeral will be private and will be held at North Fork Cemetery, on June 9, 2023,  at 11 a.m., next to Charles and Jeanne Bland headstones.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to any of the following charities,  the American Cancer Society, Alzheimers Association, Pendleton Animal Welfare shelter at PO Box 804, Franklin, WV.

He will live in our hearts forever and will be truly missed.
