Lena Jane "Janie" Michael , age 69, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at her home.  She was born on July 28, 1955 in Petersburg, the daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson and Irene Nettie (Kelley) Michael.  She was previously married to Ronald Edward Kesner, who preceded her in death.

Janie was a 1974 graduate of Petersburg High School and a Christian by faith.  She had previously worked at Advantage Foods in Petersburg before retiring from Pilgrim's Pride in Moorefield, WV.  Janie loved to be outdoors and took advantage of the opportunities in her home town to go hunting, fishing, and hiking as often as she could.   She also enjoyed meeting up with friends at the Petersburg Senior Center.

Janie is survived by: a daughter, Cindy Kesner of Moorefield, WV; 2 sons, Adam Kesner (Crystal Moran) of Petersburg, WV; Jared Michael (Fiancée Tami) of Moorefield, WV; 4 sisters, Kay Neumann of York, PA; Kathy Greenwalt of Moorefield, WV; Kitty Delawder of Maysville, WV; Jeane Mullenax (Kelly) of Petersburg, WV; 5 Grandchildren, Autumn, Alicia, and Laila Kesner, Chris and Savannah Michael; and 3 Great-grandchildren, Stella, Kohen, and Willow Cain.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a Granddaughter, Cheyanne Hatfield.

Janie's family will receive friends on Friday, March 14, 2025, 1-2 PM, at the Basagic Funeral Home, Petersburg, WV.  A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev.
