Leslie Claude Howell Jr., age 74, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at his home.  He was born on July 21, 1950 in Trenton, MI, the son of the late Leslie Claude Sr. and Viola Pearl (Myers) Howell.

Mr. Howell served our country in the United States Navy and after over 30 years, retired in 2005 from the National Institutes of Health as a supervisor. He was a proud, self-sufficient man who was also generous with his time to those in need.  Les enjoyed getting together with his buddies for a good game of cards and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Les is survived by: a sister, Kay Parraz and a brother, Michael Howell both of Moriarty, NM.  He was preceded in death by: 2 sisters, Donna Joyce Phillips; Ruth Phillips; 4 brothers, Larry Howell, Jim, Bill, and Jerry Woody.  He also forged a new family and brotherly bond with his longtime buddies, Steven Bell, Jeff Ruth, and William Drew, who will carry on his legacy.
