February 22, 1947 – December 25, 2024
Linda Louise Watts , age 77, of New Creek, WV, went to be with her Savior on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at WVU J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. She was born on February 22, 1947 in Laurel Dale, WV, the daughter of the late Samuel "Henry" and Ruby Marie (Shoemaker) Snyder. On August 8, 1964, Linda married her loving husband, Pastor Vivan Dwayne Watts who survives in New Creek.
Mrs. Watts was a 1965 graduate of Petersburg High School and on August 17, 1969, Linda gave her heart to Jesus. From that day on, she had served Christ in the ministry for over 55 years. She was actively involved in children's ministry, Sunday School, youth services and avidly attended school board meetings. The love and devotion she shared for the Lord can only be rivaled by her love and dedication to her family.
In addition to her husband, Linda leaves behind to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Debra Kidwell (Ronnie) of Great Cacapon, WV; Beth Michael (Allen) of Great Cacapon, WV; 3 sons, Christopher Watts (Janet) of Maysville, WV; Kent Watts of New Creek, WV; Lee Watts (Lisa) of Rio, WV; a sister, Janice Barger of Maysville, WV; a brother, Mike Snyder (Mary) of New Creek, WV; 11 Grandchildren, Savanna Nesselrod; Chester, Leah, and Alec Kidwell; Colton Watts, Sully Watts, John-Mark Michael, Sylas Watts, Zane Watts, Caleb Michael; Malachi Michael; and 5 Great-grandchildren, Sadie and Wyatt Nesselrod; Cohen Kidwell; Cordelia Watts; and Marleah Michael. She was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Snyder.
Linda's family will receive friends on Sunday, December 29, 2024, 5-8 PM, at Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, 11:00 AM, at Cabins Assembly of God, Cabins, WV, with Pastor Tommy George and Pastor Alec Kidwell officiating. Interment will be at the Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, WV. Memorials may be made to the James Isaac House Pregnancy Care Center.
