Obituary

Lonnie Lee Vandevander , age 51, of Riverton, WV, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born in Elkins, WV, on November 14, 1969, the son of the late David Lee Vandevander and Juanita Mallow Vandevander of Riverton, WV and his late step father, Tony Sites.

Lonnie grew up in Durbin and Riverton, WV. He was a 1988 graduate of Circleville High School and had worked as a truck driver, having worked for Hinkle Trucking, Dettinburn Transport, Smith Transport, Sponaugle Trucking, and Heritage Dedicated Services where he was employed until his death.

Lonnie had a passion for native trout fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles and 4-wheelers with his wife, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a very special man.

In addition to his mother, Lonnie leaves behind to cherish his memory, the love of his life and wife and companion of 30 years, Mary Kline Vandevander; a son, Randy Vandevander (Shaina) of Wardensville, WV; 2 daughters, Cassondra Vandevander of Virginia, Ashley Hedrick (Robert) of Riverton, WV; 3 sisters, Melissa Raines (Steven) of Seneca Rocks, WV, Michelle Sites of Riverton, WV, Brenda White (JR) of Cabins, WV; 10 grandchildren, Eli, Matthew, Luke, Mckayla, Darnell, Kourtney, Nataley, Makinley, Allie, Kyley; 2 nieces, Kira and Emilee; 5 nephews, Kyle, Tanner, Tyler, Coalton, and William; a great niece, Brynlee; and a great nephew, Kamden.
