Lori Ann Nelson , age 58, of Riverton WV, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. She was born June 20, 1962 in Harman WV, the daughter of the late John Wesley and Alpha Thompson Wilfong. Lori Ann married Rodney Lee Nelson on September 20, 1980 who survives in Riverton WV.

Mrs. Nelson graduated in 1980 from Circleville High School and was a member of the North Fork Baptist Church in Riverton WV. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Lori Ann loved cooking, baking, and taking care of everyone around her, but most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Nelson is survived by: 2 daughters Autumn Clark (Seth) of Cabins WV, and Tiffany Nelson of Romney WV;, 3 sons, Jonathan Nelson, John Nelson, and David Nelson all of Riverton, WV; 5 grandchildren, John Owen Nelson, Caden McAbee, Zaydyn Sperling, and Eli and Allison Nelson, which she adopted in December 2020; and a step-granddaughter, Elizabeth Clark; 2 sisters Linda Hedrick (James), and Rebecca Hedrick all of Cabins W;, 2 brothers Johnny (Buddy) Wilfong (Neysa) of Charlottesville VA, and Charles Wilfong (Mary) of Riverton WV; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Dwight and Virginia Nelson, of Riverton, WV; 2 Sisters-in-Law, Susan Nelson (Gail Harper) of Franklin, WV and Jennifer Simmons (Kent) of Moyers, WV; along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lori is preceded in death by: a Brother-in-law John Paul Hedrick; and 2 nephews, Eric Hedrick and Robert Wilfong.

In honoring Mrs. Nelson's request, her body has been cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the North Fork Baptist Church in Riverton, WV, with Pastor Theodore Bennett officiating. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service time. Inurnment will be in North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton, WV.
