Lucille Lorraine Arrigo, of Georgetown, Massachusetts, passed away at her residence on September 30, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on September 5, 1946, in Georgetown, MA, the daughter of the late Karl and Mary (Smith) Lay. Lucille married John F. Arrigo, who preceded her in death on April 18, 2006.

Lucille lived a life rooted in faith, family, and care for others. She was a graduate of Haverhill High School in Massachusetts. She went on to devote herself to work in foster care, a calling that reflected her compassion and steady generosity of spirit. Among the accomplishments that meant the most to her was fostering more than 47 children, offering care, guidance, and a sense of home to many young lives. She was Catholic by faith, and that faith was an important part of who she was.

At the heart of Lucille’s life was her family. She leaves behind to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Rose Muise (Shawn Grant) of Brandywine, WV, Dorothy James of Brandywine, WV; 2 sons, David Arrigo (Savannah) of Franklin, WV, Scott Arrigo of New Hampshire; 2 sisters, Grace Ray of Maine, Karlene Joyal of New Hampshire; a brother, Charles Lay of Arizona; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: a daughter, Dorren and a brother, Jimmy.
