Lucy Mae (Hott) Ruddle , age 89, of Elkins, WV, formerly of Riverton, WV, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Colonial Place in Elkins. She was born on March 26, 1931, in Cabins, WV, the daughter of the late Loren S. and Valetta (Markwood) Hott. Lucy married Estyl Wade Ruddle, who preceded her in death on April 29, 2005.

Mrs. Ruddle was a 1948 graduate of Petersburg High School and had worked as a bookkeeper for Ruddle Trucking and Ruddle Poultry Farm. She was a member of Riverton United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Ruddle is survived by: a grandson, Zachary Ruddle of New Home, TX; a granddaughter, Jennifer Ruddle of Lubbuck, TX; a daughter-in-law, Johnnie Ruddle of Riverton, WV; a niece, Bobbi Ruddle of Leland, NC; and 3 great-grandchildren, Bergynn Piper, Sydni Lynn, and Christopher Michael Ruddle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John David Ruddle.

Friends may pay their respects at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV, on Friday, January 29, 2021, 1-6 PM. Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 30, 2021, 1-2 PM at the Riverton United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Cindy Skinner officiating.
