Lurenna Susan May, age 68, of Maysville, WV, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at EA Hawse Healthcare Center, Baker, WV.  She was born on May 19, 1957 in Petersburg, WV, the daughter of the late Edward Arnold and Twila (Sites) May of Maysville.

Ms. May graduated from Petersburg High School and attended a beauty school in Maryland.  She was a Christian in faith and had worked many jobs, including a beautician, waitress, receptionist at the Grant Memorial Hospital and as a cashier at Sheetz.  Lurenna enjoyed painting, putting puzzles together, making quilts, and especially loved flowers.

In addition to her mother, Lurenna is survived by: 2 sons, Todd May (Sueann) of Maysville, WV; Zachery Mongold of Petersburg, WV; a step-son, Jeremy Mongold of Moorefield, WV; 2 sisters, Dorothy May of Maysville, WV; Robin Riggleman (David) of Maysville, WV; a half-brother, Billy Sites (Vickie) of Maysville, WV; 3 grandchildren, Austin, James, and Jessica May; 1 step-grandson, Matthew Mongold; and a great-granddaughter, Blair May.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Allen Gilchrist.

Lurenna's family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 12-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.  A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Randy Mongold officiating.  Interment will be in the Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville, WV.  Memorials may be made to the family c/o the Basagic Funeral Home, POB 400 Petersburg, WV 26847.  Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com or on Facebook at Basagic Funeral Home.
