Obituary

Margie Bell Wimer, age 79, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at her home. She was born on December 4, 1938, in Circleville, WV, the daughter of the late Cliff and Margie (Warner) Arbaugh. Margie married Marvin Jonas Wimer, who preceded her in death on December 28, 1985.

Margie attended Pendleton County Schools and Rockingham County Schools. She enjoyed coloring, working puzzles, birdwatching, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and socializing at the Senior Center. Margie was a member of the Franklin Assembly of God Church and had worked at Wampler and Marvel Poultry, and as a Custodian at Upper Tract Elementary School. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother.

Margie is survived by: 2 daughters, Etha Finnigan (Bryan) of Harrisonburg, Brenda VanMeter (Mark) of Franklin; 2 sons, William Douglas Shrader (Carla) of Holt Summit, MO, Danny Wimer (Linda VanMeter) of Franklin; 2 step daughters, Alice Kile of Hinton VA, Evelyn Lambert (Martin) of Cherry Grove, WV; 3 step sons, Junior Wimer (Marleta) of Franklin, Frank Wimer (Wanda) of Franklin, Jerry Wimer (Nancy) Harrisonburg; 5 sisters, Ideva Martin of Harrisonburg, Norma Thomas of Harrisonburg, Thelma Foley of Harrisonburg, Arveda Nesselrodt of Franklin, Sudie Selmon (Ralph) of Cherry Grove; 2 brothers, David Arbaugh and Luther Arbaugh, both of Harrisonburg; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Margie was preceded in death by: 2 brothers, Robert and Mayo Arbaugh; and 5 sisters, Nola Nesselrodt, Alfleda Vandevander, Robbie Riggleman, May, and Linnie.

Margie's family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services will be on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Harold Mullenax officiating. Interment will be in the North Fork Memorial Cemetery in Riverton.
