We celebrate today the life of Margaret Marie Eye, who was born in Cave, West Virginia on October 19, 1924 to Luther E. and Sally Mullenax, and who passed away on the morning of September 12, 2025, at the age of 100 (almost 101) years old. Marie worked as a beautician with her sister, Lillian Brown before marrying John David Eye and settling down to raise four daughters. Marie's family knew that they could call on her at any time for advice, or just plain help as they raised their own children. Marie was always active in church, working with the toddlers as a young wife and mother. There was not a baby that she could not get settled! After husband, David Eye, retired as a professor of environmental engineering at the University of Cincinnati in 1985, they came back home to Franklin where they enjoyed a full and happy retirement. Marie leaves behind four daughters and spouses: Nancy Gant (husband Carl), Sarah Cobb (husband Craig), Linda Lotton (husband Don) and Patty Waid (husband Randy), eight grandchildren, who love her dearly, and 12 great grandchildren. Dave and Marie became members of Faith Lutheran Church where they worshiped for many years. A Memorial Service will be held on the 4th of July 2026, in Franklin, at the next Eye family reunion. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Faith Lutheran Church in Franklin, WV.

Mrs. Eye's family will receive friends on Saturday, July 4, 2026, 9-9:45 AM in the basement of the Faith Lutheran Church in Franklin, WV.  A Memorial service will follow at 10:00 AM, in the church sanctuary.  Inurnement will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin, WV.
