Marilyn Kaye Sims , age 70, of Brandywine, WV, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at her residence. She was born in Campbellsville, KY, on May 2, 1949, the daughter of the late Glen and Mary Mildred Walker.
Marilyn attended Taylor County High School in Campbellsville, KY and was a graduate of Beauty School in Witchita Falls, TX. She attended Brandywine Baptist Church and was a member of South Fork Ladies Auxiliary, and Temple Field Association. Marilyn supported and was a sponsor of the Special Olympics, Little League, and Pony League. She had a passion for the Dallas Cowboys and WVU Sports. She owned and operated Hair Fair Beauty Salon in Brandywine from 1977-2017, when she retired, as a hairdresser.
Marilyn is survived by: a daughter, Stephanie Wilson (Larry) of Montana Mines, WV; 3 sons, Michael Sims (Lori) of Louisville, KY, Anthony "Tony" Peer (Karen) of Brandywine, WV, Toby Peer (Kim) of Hagerstown, MD; a brother, Roy Glen Walker of Campbellsville, KY; 8 grandchildren, Nikki, Brianna, TJ, and Sara Peer, Katie and Tyler Wilson, Ellis and Joseph Sims. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion of 37 years, Robert Odell "Bobby" Peer (February 2, 2019); a brother, Kerry Phillip Pike; and a sister, Glenna Walker.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020, from 6-8 PM at the South Fork Volunteer Fire Department in Brandywine, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South Fork Ladies Auxiliary or to PAWS. Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com or on Facebook at Basagic Funeral Home.
