Mary Mildred Walker, age 95, of Brandywine, WV, formerly of Campbellsville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV. She was born in Taylor County, KY, on June 24, 2914, the daughter of the late Luther and Bessie (Chapel) Bowman. Mildred was twice married and preceded in death by both of her husbands, James Pike and Glen "Brother" Walker.
Ms. Walker was the owner of Bean Pot and Brothers Restaurant, where she worked as a server. She attended Kentucky schools and was a member of Woodlawn Christian Church in Campbellsville, KY. Mildred was a singer in a Gospel Group, "The Sunshine Girls".
Ms. Walker is survived by: a daughter, Marilyn Sims of Brandywine, WV; a son, Roy Glen Walker of Campbellsville, KY; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by: a son, Kerry Phillip Pike; a daughter, Glenna Walker; a brother, Marion Bowman; and a half brother, Gene Bowman.
Ms. Walker's family will receive friends on Sunday, December 22, 2019, 12-2 PM, at Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville, KY. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM a the funeral home, with Pastor Fella Wilson officiating. Intombment will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens in Campbellsville.
