Mary Catherine Yates, age 74 of Moorefield, WV, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at her residence. She was born on January 7, 1945 in Nantyglo, PA, the daughter of the late John Eget and Mary (Greenwalt) Eget.  On December 26, 1964 she married her husband of over 55 years, Richard "Dick" Franklin Yates, who survives in Moorefield.

Mrs. Yates graduated High School in Nantyglo, PA and was a Catholic by faith.  Mary was a personnel tester working for the State of Maryland before moving to West Virginia where she was a manager for Sheetz in Moorefield and Petersburg, WV.  She had a love and passion for her dogs, often entering and showing them in dog shows.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Yates is survived by: 1 sister, Barbara Shimshock of Nantglo, PA and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Yates is preceded in death by: 1 brother, John Eget; 2 sisters, Joanne Decker and Elizabeth "Toots" Kuzilla.
