Melody Beth Watts , age 48, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, WV. She was born on July 5, 1972, in Petersburg, WV, the daughter of Betty Jean (Warner) Watts of Franklin, WV.

Melody was a 1990 graduate of Franklin High School and had attended Bridgewater College. She had worked for WV Choice, Family Dollar and Franklin Exxon/Par Mar.

In addition to her mother, Melody is survived by: 2 sisters, Jacqueline Watts (Jay Foltz) of Shenandoah, VA, Donna Kirkpatrick (Allan) of Harrisonburg, VA; a brother, Frazier Lee "Buster" Roop of Staunton, VA; a nephew, George Watts; 3 nieces, Adrienne Hull, Bethany Brooks, and Brandi McAllister; 4 great nieces, Brooklynn, Summer, and Dallis Hull, and Makayla Saunders.

Melody's family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, 2-3 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Becky Bennett officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin, WV.
