Michele Rena Thompson , age 51, of Franklin, WV, departed this life on Friday, October 11, 2024, at her home. She was born in Petersburg, WV, on March 21, 1973, the daughter of the late Ona and Janet (Whetzel) Thompson.

Michele attended Franklin High School and had worked at Advantage Foods. She had a quick and witty sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. Michele enjoyed playing bingo and she loved spending time with her family, especially her kids and grandkids.

Michele leaves behind to cherish her memory: 2 sons, Christopher Thompson (Tiffini) of Moorefield, WV, Patrick Westfall (Hannah Simmons) of Franklin, WV; a sister, Becky Thompson of Franklin, WV; 2 brothers, Kevin Thompson of Franklin, WV, Jeremy Thompson (Tori) of Franklin, WV; 3 grandsons, Steve, Daniel, and Kaison; 2 nephews, Tyler Shears (Isabelle Stewart), IKevin Thompson, Jr.;  and 2 nieces, Haley Paugh (Sean Runion), and Carmella Paugh. addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kylee Thompson.

Michele's family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, 12-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Mike Lambert officiating. Interment will be in Cherry Hill Cemetery, Upper Tract, WV.
