Millie Jean Kuykendall, age 88, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Friday May 28, 2021, at Stone Rise of Keyser. Mrs. Kuykendall was born on April 16, 1933, in Kessel, WV, the daughter of the late Homer Weatherholtz and Martha (Pratt) Weatherholtz. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Frederick Arlie "Beck" Kuykendall on January 28, 2012.

Mrs. Kuykendall attended school in Kessel and had previously attended the Petersburg Church of God. After retiring from the Petersburg Garment Factory as a seamstress, she had a daycare center in Petersburg, where she enjoyed taking care of children. Millie enjoyed visiting state parks and spending time with her family, but most cherished was Sunday family dinners.

Mrs. Kuykendall is survived by: 2 daughters, Jena Wratchford (Leroy) of Petersburg and Jackie Idleman (Bradley) of Chester, VA; 2 sons, Arlie Frederick Kuykendall, Jr. (Connie) of Petersburg and Craig Kuykendall of Petersburg; 3 sisters, Suzella Bean of Moorefield, WV, Mae Saville of Baker, WV, and Bonnie Srout of Hickory, NC, 1 brother, Philip Weatherholtz (Wanda) of Moorefield; 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband; Mrs. Kuykendall is preceded in death by: 2 brothers, Ocie Weatherholtz and Elmer Weatherholtz and 1 sister, Ethel Funk.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 6-8PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Funeral services will be at 2PM on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in the Chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Sisson officiating. Interment will be at the Newhouse Cemetery in Rig, WV.
