Nancy Louise (Auville) Raines, age 79, of Riverton, WV, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV. She was born on February 23, 1943, at Brushy Run, near Onego, WV, the daughter of the late Paul Edman and Nellie Frances (McGowan) Auville, being the oldest of their nine children. On December 12, 1960, Nancy married Richard Lee Raines, who preceded her in death on July 5, 2010.

Nancy was a 1961 graduate of Circleville High School and was employed at Pendleton Nursing Home, where she worked as a nursing assistant, home health aid, volunteer coordinator, and activities director. She was also a member of the Dixie Extension Homemakers Club for 32 years and a member of the Riverton United Methodist Church. She was active with the Pendleton County Fair and Treasure Mountain Festival.

Nancy leaves behind to cherish her memories: a son, Terry Lee Raines of Riverton, WV; a daughter, Cathy (Raines) Jennings of Myrtle Beach, SC; 3 grandsons, Christopher Jennings (Sarah) of Chesapeake, VA, Eric Jennings (Bethany) of Moorefield, WV, and Ryan Raines (Sarah) of Franklin, WV; 4 great-granddaughters, Kylie, Kaelynn, Alaine, and Emily Jennings; 2 great-grandsons, Lucas Raines and Christian Jennings; 2 sisters, Arlene Goldizen (Delmas) of Jordan Run, WV, and Connie Propst of Timberville, VA; 5 brothers, Paul Auville Jr. (Linda) of Dry Fork, WV, Eugene Auville (Norma) of Riverton, WV, Rowland Auville (Diane) of Seneca Rocks, WV, Orville Auville of Cabins, WV, and Raymond Auville of Riverton, WV; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: a brother, Kenneth Auville.

In honoring Nancy's wishes, her body has been cremated. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, April 9, 2022, 1-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV, with a Celebration of Life following at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Mike Lambert officiating. Inurnment will follow at North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton, WV.
