Obituary

Naomi J. (Stepp) Carr, age 86 of Scherr, WV, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at her residence. She was born on April 26, 1932 in Delbarton, WV the daughter of the late Carlie Stepp and Trulie (Farley) Stepp Brewster. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Lester Carr, Jr. on September 30, 2013.

Mrs. Carr was a 1950 graduate of Burch High School in Delbarton and a member of the Falls Assembly of God in Maysville, WV. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was the eldest of 12 and helped her mother take care of her younger brothers & sisters and continued to do the same with her own four children. She was very family oriented and generously helped anyone in need. She held Jesus very close in her heart and encouraged everyone else to do the same. She enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles, gardening, spending time with family and friends and her adorable dog Joe.

Mrs. Carr is survived by: 2 daughters, Dr. Marsha Carr and husband, Jennings Lambert, of Wilmington, NC and Kelly Carr Smail and husband, Mark, of Greensburg, PA; 2 sons, Jeffrey Carr and fiance Emma Harris of Petersburg and Kevin Carr of Scherr; 7 sisters, Delores "Took" Pyles of Hillsboro, WV, Arlene Owens of Grove City, OH, Geraldine Blair of Lenore, WV, Yvonne "Tootie" Guillory of Layfette, LA, Brenda Perkins of Madisonville, TN, Sandra Belcher of Monterville, WV and Rhonda Meglen of St. George, UT; 2 brothers, Hershel "Pug" Stepp of Columbus, OH and Gordon Stepp of Delbarton, WV; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by: 1 step-son, Gary Carr and 2 brothers, Thathus Stepp and Randy Stepp.

Mrs. Carr's family will receive friends on Saturday, July 7, 2018, 4-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Funeral Services will be on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at 2PM in the Chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home with Rev. Vivian Watts officiating. Interment will be at the Maysville Cemetery in Maysville, WV.
