Mallow
May 4, 1941 – September 4, 2024
Noah Junior Mallow , age 83, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Sentara RMH, after a brief illness. He was born on May 4, 1941, at Cabins, WV, the son of the late Mason Wade and Dovie Alice (Watts) Mallow. On December 10, 1962, Noah married the love of his life, Thelma Ruth (Hartman) Mallow, who preceded him in death on February 5, 2020.
Noah attended Petersburg High School. He had worked at Franklin Oil Company, Ruddle Equipment, and Hanover Shoe Company for 32 years. He was a jack of all trades and applied his skills in small engine repair at Sites Fire & Safety Equipment, where he had been employed for more than 30 years.
Noah expressed his dedication to his community and Franklin Volunteer Fire Department by joining Company #2, as Firefighter #216, on December 16, 1966 and serving as a member for 57 years. He was a loyal member and he became famous for his country ham sandwiches that he was committed to serving from the Boar's Nest at the fire department functions.
Noah had a passion for hunting, fishing and watching Pendleton County High School football. He received well-deserved recognition for his chainsaw sharpening skills and gardening skills. He had a green thumb and a special touch in growing enormous pumpkins.
Noah was a very kind and generous man with a servants heart. He was devoted to his famly and took pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His legacy of love will continue to live through each of them as he left an imprint on each of their lives.
Noah leaves behind to cherish his memory: a son, Noah Jay Mallow of Franklin, WV; 2 step sons, Rick Warner (Brenda), of Franklin, WV, Joey Warner (Connie) of Bellingham, WA; a step daughter, Jackie Pennybacker (Carroll) of Harrisonburg, VA; 4 brothers, Melvin Mallow (Wilma) of Rig, WV, Roy "Tobe" Mallow of Fairfax, VA, Earl Mallow (Robin) of Cabins, WV, Eston Mallow (Linda) of Cabins, WV; 5 grandchildren, Valerie, Michael, Jessica, Kimberly, and Shawn; and 4 great-grandchildren, Carter, Bryce, Sadie, and Tinley. In additon to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by: 2 brothers, Joe and Wade Mallow.
Noah's family will receive friends on Saturday, September 7, 2024, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will be on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Brad Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin, WV, with a dedicated "last call" by Franklin Volunteer Fire Department, Company #2. Memorials may be made to Franklin Volunteer Fire Department or Ladies Auxiliary. Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com.
