Omer James "Jimmy" Hinkle, age 86, of Rig, WV passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at his home.  He was born on January 9, 1938, the son of the late Eldie Everett and Ollie Franklin (Eye) Hinkle.  Jimmy married his wife of 69 years, Mary Louise (Delawder) Hinkle, who survives in Rig.

Mr. Hinkle attended school in Rig and was a Christian by faith.  Jimmy worked at the Tannery for 18 years and retired from Hester's after 25 years of service.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors until his health began to decline.  In his senior years, you could find Jimmy sitting on the bench at Shop N Save talking to his buddies.

In addition to his wife, Jimmy is survived by: 2 daughters, Susan Mongold (Buck) of Petersburg, WV; Christine Wiley (Kerry) of Charleston, WV; a son, Steve Hinkle (Valerie) of Moorefield, WV; a sister-in-law, Phoebe Hinkle of Petersburg, WV; a son-in-law, Buck Riggleman of Petersburg, WV; 10 Grandchildren; and 14 Great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by: a daughter, Penny Lynn Riggleman; a sister, Orpha Imperio; and a brother, Ralph Hinkle.
