Orma Glee Bland , age 78, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at her home. She was born on April 12, 1940, in Macksville, WV, the daughter of the late William Isom and Beulah Ilva (Kimble) Hedrick. Orma was previously married to the late Jackie Bland. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Ms. Bland graduated from Circleville High School in 1958. She was a former member of the North Fork Baptist Church in Riverton and the High Rock United Methodist Church in Seneca Rocks. Orma was a waitress at Geno's and Roy Rogers for 20 years in Hyatteville, MD. Before retiring, she was a cook for the Riverton Head Start for 10 years where she was named Cook of the Year.

Ms. Bland is survived by: a daughter, Penny Hoggarth of Petersburg, WV; 2 sons, Hadley Bland of Petersburg, WV and Richard Bland of Seneca Rocks, WV; 5 grandchildren, Steven Bland, Christopher Phillips, Tina Hoggarth, Denali Hedrick and Brock Bland; and 6 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: a daughter, Ilva Phillips; 1 sister, Susie Simmons; 2 brothers, Riley Hedrick and Ralph Hedrick.

Ms. Bland's family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg. Funeral services will be on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home with Pastors Theodore Bennett and Sam Harper officiating.
