Orville Lee Whetzel, a wonderful husband and father, age 82, of Stafford, VA, passed away on Thursday morning, April 2, 2026 in Bowling Green, VA.  He was born on May 15, 1943 in Moorefield, WV, the son of the late Harold Crossland and Vernie Whetzel.

Orville was a member of the Stafford Church of God and as a Christian; he was always spreading God's Word with everyone he met.  He loved spending time with family and friends and always loved his drive to the wonderful hills of West Virginia to spend time with his WV family.  He was employed with Lockhead Martin and General Electric for several years, until his retirement.

Orville is survived by: 3 sisters, Helen Baker of Moorefield, WV; Kathy Parsons of Fisher, WV; Betty Carroll of Montgomery; a brother, Tony Crossland of Moorefield, WV; 2 sons, Billy Reed of Petersburg, WV; Clint Whetzel of Stafford, VA; a daughter, Buffy Farber of Myrtle Beach, SC; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Orville was preceded in death by: a brother, Bobby Whetzel; 2 sisters, Mary Alt; Arvella Crist; 2 grandsons, Dylan Reed; and Dylan Farber.

In honoring Orville's wishes, his body has been cremated and a funeral service will be held at a later date at Found and Sons in Frederick, VA.
