Philip Eugene Pixler, age 61, of Petersburg, WV, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. He was born on November 5, 1961, in Glendale, CA, the son of Charles Everette Pixler of Athena, OR and Rose Marie Minor of Mercersburg, PA.
Mr. Pixler attended school in Hillsboro, OR and attended First Baptist Church in Petersburg. Philip worked for Roadway Transportation at the loading department in Hagerstown, MD. Upon retirement, he moved to Petersburg where he volunteered as a driver for Potomac Valley Transit Authority, the Potomac Highlands Guild, and at the Petersburg Lions Club. Philip was a gifted musician and singer who was very generous with his time and had a tremendous love for his family. He lived his life according to God's word by not only being a "hearer" of the word, but a "doer" as well (James 1:22).
In addition to his parents, Philip is survived by: 4 brothers, Charles Pixler (Cindy) of Klamath Falls, OR; Douglas Pixler (Robin) of Petersburg; Christopher Pixler (Raigne) of Las Vegas, NV; Matthew Pixler (Kristen) of Mercersburg, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
In honoring Philip's wishes, his body will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the First Baptist Church, Petersburg, WV at 2PM with Pastors Frank Ketterman and Shannon Earle officiating. Memorials may be made to the Petersburg Highlands Guild, Russ Hedrick Recovery Center, at POB 1119, Petersburg, WV 26847 or (336) 889-5656.
