Phyllis Jean Warner, age 83, of Baker, WV and formerly of Maysville, WV, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at E. A. Hawse Healthcare Center in Baker, WV. Phyllis was born on June 24, 1941 in Petersburg, WV, the daughter of the late Carl and Mary Joe (Southerly) Wratchford and raised by her grandparents, Hugh Gilbert and Phoebe (Kuykendall) Wratchford. On August 12, 1955 Phyllis married Lee Roy Warner who preceded her in death on December 17, 2005.
Ms. Warner attended school in Petersburg and went to Rig Assembly of God Church. Phyllis had a talent for growing flowers and making beautiful arrangements for all to enjoy. She also enjoyed listening to country music and spending as much time as she could with all her grandbabies and great grandbabies. Phyllis loved her family and her caring nature will be her lasting legacy for her family to cherish.
Phyllis leaves behind to cherish her memory: 4 daughters, Brenda Lamb of Pamplin, VA; Pamela Smith (Richard) of Capon Bridge, WV; Catherine Ours (Rickie) of Moorefield, WV; Carol Helm (Rusty) of Myrtle Beach, SC; 4 sons, Terry Warner (LeeAnne) of Burlington, WV; Gary Warner (Kathy); Randy Warner (Donna); Roger Warner (Shirley) all of Maysville, WV; 2 sisters, Shirley Ketterman of Petersburg, WV; Delphia Cullers (Buddy) of Moorefield, WV; 4 brothers, Larry Wratchford (Rosalie); Calvin Wratchford (Kay); Steve Wratchford all of Petersburg, WV; Elvin Wratchford (Sharon) of Moorefield, WV; a sister-in-law, Rhoda Wratchford of Petersburg, WV; 16 Grandchildren; and 23 Great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: 2 sisters, Lucille Wratchford; Irene Ketterman; 3 brothers, Lester, Ernest, and Don Wratchford; a brother-in-law, Paul Ketterman; 3 sister-in-law's, Carol, Wanda, and Shirley Wratchford; a son-in-law, William H. Lamb; 3 Grand-children, Michael and Matthew Warner and Gregory Smith Jr.
Ms. Warner's family will receive friends on Thursday, March 20, 2025 5-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. A funeral service will be held at the Rig Assembly of God Church in Rig on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Brad Taylor officiating. Interment will be at the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin, WV. Memorials may be made to the Rig Assembly of God Church, 10 Queens Dr. Moorefield, WV 26836.
