Quenton Roscoe Lawrence, age 86, of Petersburg, WV and formerly of Riverton, WV passed away at the Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.  He was born on September 4, 1938 in Allentown, PA, the son of the late Roscoe S. and Gwendolyn E. (Ferketicz) Lawrence.   On September 15, 1956, Quenton married his lovely bride of over 68 years, Joan Kay (Garges) Lawrence who survives in Petersburg.

Mr. Lawrence attended school in Pottstown, PA, was a member of the High Rock United Methodist Church in Seneca Rocks, WV, and served in the PA National Guard and Reserves.  After 30 years of service, Quenton retired from Mrs. Smith's Bakeries Inc. in Pottstown, PA where he was in charge of a warehouse and instrumental in developing recipe's for the crème used in their pies.   He spent many hours in the kitchen testing out various pie fillings that would be sold to millions of delighted customers.  In his spare time, he and Joan enjoyed traveling around the country, visiting the Carlsbad Caverns and Yellowstone National Parks and going as far as Canada.  Quenton had a talent for woodworking and loved riding around on his John Deere tractor mowing the grass.

In addition to his wife, Quenton is survived by: 3 sons, Scott Lawrence of Reading, PA; Stephen Lawrence of Showmakersville, PA; Eugene Lawrence of Douglasville, PA; 7 Granddaughters, Jamie, Kelly, Sarah, Rachel, Renee, Christina, and Daniele; and 6 Great-grandchildren.   He was preceded in death by: 3 brothers, Sheldon Larry, and David Lawrence and an infant sister, Virginia.
