Ralph Vance Sturgeon, age 65, of Brandywine, WV, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, VA. He was born on June 16, 1961, in Fairmont, WV, the son of the late Grace Marie (Williams) and Ray Joe Sturgeon, Jr.

Ralph was a graduate of Mannington High School and he retired from VPGC in Hinton, VA, after 40 years of service.

Ralph is survived by: 2 daughters; 2 sons; 3 sisters, Bessie Gump (Larry) of Metz, WV, Ann, Opal Price (Les) of Mannington, WV; and 4 brothers, Ray Sturgeon (Jeanette) of Franklin, WV, Mike Sturgeon (Leslie) of Pennsylvania, Robert Sturgeon of Ohio, Guy Sturgeon of Mannington, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 4 brothers, Richard, William, Raymond, and John; and a sister, Joanne.

In honoring Ralph's wishes, his body has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
